The Fatal Four Way has come and gone and to think that it was a good idea to have put it on would be a huge mistake to even state this. It was a cluster ef if there ever was one. Most of the matches were put together on the fly as well as not being announced more than a few days before the PPV itself. I call that poor planning on the federations part. If they really think the buy-rate for this atrocity would be good, they are sadly mistaken. Now onto my rants about the PPV. First and foremost, I wasn’t surprised to see Sheamus win the title. Problem is, who will they have go against the man? The only two people I see going against the man are John Morrison or Chris Jericho. John Morrison is a phenomenal athlete but is he really good enough for the heavyweight division and a run at the WWE title? The jury is still out on that one. The other contender I would love to see go against Sheamus is of course Chris Jericho, but he’s a heel as well as Sheamus. Would the WWE pit each one against the other? I would cheer for Jericho even if he is a heel. I don’t particularly like Sheamus so the man to go to would be Jericho. He can still be a heel but who knows what the writers have planned for this situation. But because Cena doesn’t have the title it usually means we will be seeing less of it until it gets back around his waist or HHH’s. That is just a fact, always has been, always will be. Rey Mysterio is now the World Heavyweight champion after pinning Swagger (with a little help from Big Show that is). I have mixed feelings about this. I’m glad he’s champ, but come on, he’s a complainer backstage and an injury prone man. How long will this reign last? Maybe it’s setting up a heel turn for Christian to be able to go against the little guy so that Captain Charisma can be the champion finally. I can dream can’t I? I would love for this to happen. Christian is the most under-utilized wrestler right now in the WWE. I’ve always said he has the talent and the mike skills to go over better than anyone on the Smackdown roster today. So lets hope I am right on this one thing for the summer. I will keep my fingers crossed for this to happen. The rest of the PPV was again lackluster at best. I could careless about the Divas Championship and how Eve won it. I’m just not interested because of how talentless most of the women’s division is right now. Boring is the word that comes to mind whenever there is a match with them involved. Just like the European Championship, the Divas Championship and the whole division just doesn’t hold water for this writer anymore. I am still bewildered that Chris Jericho is jobbing so much lately. Don’t get me wrong, having to job to Evan Bourne isn’t a bad thing, because Evan is the next best high flyer in the federation and a future champion. No I think Chris deserves more than what he is getting right now. Maybe Vince is mad because of Chris’s night job being the new game show called Downfall on ABC (premiering this Tuesday night) and him not having anything to do with it. So what does Vince do in return? He jobs out Jericho, yeah that’ll show ‘em alright. I will always enjoy Jericho whether he wins or loses because I know he will put on a show that we fans will love. He is and always will be my Champion of choice (along with Captain Charisma himself Christian).
I will comment only briefly about the rest of the card, crap. There was no real big build up for any of the rest of the matches and to really care about what happen would be an overstatement. This was one PPV that was not worth the time nor the bother to watch nor care about. Let the emails fly!! Now I hit on the point of NXT. They were at the PPV as you should well know by now. To think they are no longer part of the federation would be asinine. They will be for the foreseeable future. What impact will they have is the question I ask. If it is anything like last Monday’s Raw, the impact won’t be much. There is still life left in this storyline if the writers can figure where they are going with it. Don’t rush it just because you think you have to. The summer is just starting and to throw everything at the fans at once would be a mistake. Give us a reason to watch from week to week, but make it interesting. The farce that was last week should never be repeated. If you are going to start a faction and want it to look unstoppable, don’t have them running off scared when some mid carders go chasing after them. Instead destroy them and leave nothing in their wake. Then that would entail some of the other Raw roster to get together with their own faction to battle the NXT or the “Nexus” as it will surely be named soon. I really want to tune into wrestling, but if there are too many repeats of last Monday rolling around for this summer, I won’t be watching. As you have heard by now, Scott Hall has been fired by TNA…I’m not surprised. The man has had sooooo many chances with his career he is a train wreck. Why the federations have given him all these chances is beyond me. He needs to get himself straightened up and to fly right. In reality he won’t because he likes to make a spectacle of himself in whatever he does. You can quote me when I say he is a moron, an idiot and someone that just doesn’t seem to care what he does with his life. I feel he thinks he is entitled to everything he gets. That point in time has come and gone and he needs to realize this. Scott you aren’t getting any younger and you have to realize your time as a wrestler (one that matters anyways) is coming to an end. Shape up, get yourself some real help and start to fly right. You were big in the early to mid 90’s, but as far as now is concerned, you aren’t much anymore, those are just the facts. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I will express my opinion on it. It may come to pass that TNA gets rid of PPV’s altogether and has specials on Spike every now and again. I suppose it would bring in the viewers especially not having to pay for PPV’s. It will work only if done the right way. Build up storylines and make me care about the wrestlers involved. I would watch much more readily then a PPV put on by them. I am all PPV’ed out. This would be a nice change of pace. But as far as a game changer, if this is it, it’s okay. I am still waiting for this game changer to occur as well as any TNA fan. I want this federation to succeed, but so far I haven’t been too impressed with them. Make me care TNA and then you will have a fan for life-the same goes for the WWE, but so far neither federation is winning the edge in my eyes. I could careless that the WWE has better ratings than TNA, I have to believe many just have the show on as background noise on a Monday night cause nothing else is on. In the end, each one of these shows has to make me want to watch for the two hours they are on and right now that just ain’t happening (at least for the full two hours). There was a time I was glued to the story that was taking place for the entire time the shows were on, now I am a channel surfer. Help me get my passion back guys, if you don’t you will be losing more fans as time goes on. You can take that one to the bank. That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time……
