The Truth About It is this…I’m not really looking forward to WWE Extreme Rules tonight.

Welcome to another edition of The Truth About It… where I am going to make predictions on tonight’s Pay-Per-View and also talk a little bit about tomorrow’s draft. It looks as though there are 7 matches on the card tonight (I-C, US, and Tag Team Titles not on the line). Let’s start with the Women’s Title.

Michelle McCool (C) vs. Beth Phoenix **Women’s Title Extreme Makeover Match**

I’d really like to see Beth Phoenix go over here just because she’s the best female wrestler in a WEAK and in my opinion lifeless women’s division. I think she can bring credibility back to the Title. It’s not that McCool isn’t a valid champion. I actually like her gimmick, but Phoenix hasn’t had a run in quite some time. Put the strap on Beth and let her bulldoze through the women’s division for a while.

Prediction: Beth Phoenix (NEW Women’s Champion)
JTG vs. Shad Gaspard **Strap Match**

I’m looking forward to this match. I love to see new guys elevated to the next level. When tag teams break up they usually flush it down the toilet and they go their separate ways. Not this time and I like it! The former “Cryme Tyme” gets a match on Pay-Per-View and hopefully 8-10 minutes to show their stuff. I like the big man in this contest so I’m going with Shad hopefully drawing a lot of heat in the process.

Prediction: Shad Gaspard

HHH vs. Sheamus **Street Fight**

Well HHH went over at Wrestlemania so I’m going to go with Sheamus and rightfully so. I hear rumbling and grumblings that HHH may be on the shelf for a few months. It would elevate Sheamus (knocking HHH out) while in the mean time giving HHH a reason to be out for a while. I think Sheamus will have a good showing tonight and may look like a legitimate tough guy to those who didn’t think so beforehand.

Prediction: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio **If CM Punk loses, he loses his hair**

Well, I really don’t want Punk to lose his hair. These are two of my favorite wrestlers in the WWE and for totally different reasons. I think Punk MUST go over here which will hopefully set up a rubber match at next month’s Over the Limit PPV. The Straight Edge Society wouldn’t be the same with a short-haired Punk. He plays the cult leader in Academy Award winning fashion, so nothing should change that. I’d personally like to see the SES expanded…more on that in the very near future. Nonetheless, I like CM Punk to keep his hair via interference from the SES.

Prediction: CM Punk

Chris Jericho vs. Edge **Steel Cage Match**

This should be the show stealer tonight. I hope this match is given at least 20 minutes. I’d like to see Jericho win again, but my gut says Edge. In my opinion, their feud has been OK… nothing spectacular and nothing too bad. I really don’t know where these two will go after tonight especially since the draft is tomorrow. I smell Edge going to Raw though. I say Edge wins with a spear and the feud is basically over.

Prediction: Edge

John Cena (C) vs. Batista **Last Man Standing WWE Championship Match**

I wish I cared… I really do. BUT…I don’t. John Cena is going to win this match, no doubt about it. He should’ve lost at Wrestlemania, but obviously the powers that be wanted him to walk out Champion for some reason. Oh well. Cena wins when Batista can’t get up.

Winner: John Cena (Still WWE Champion)

Jack Swagger (C) vs. Randy Orton **Extreme Rules World Heavyweight Championship Match**

I like the prospects of this match. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone win a World Title then have a match on practically every TV Taping until a Pay-Per-View and lose as much as Jack Swagger did. For that reason I like him tonight. I think if he’s going to be a credible Champion then he needs to hold on to the belt throughout the summer. I’m really digging Orton right now though and think his gimmick has a lot of fire right now. I hope he goes to the superior TV Show tomorrow in Smackdown! Swagger wins tonight though…possible outside interference? But from whom…?

Prediction: Jack Swagger (Still World Heavyweight Champion)

So there you have it for tonight. Like I said, I don’t have high hopes for this Pay-Per-View and it isn’t totally WWE’s fault. That volcano threw a monkey wrench into the build, but like always in this business you have to make due and roll with the punches.

As far as tomorrow goes, I see the big movers being Edge, Swagger, and Kane to Raw while Orton, Christian, and Kofi Kingston head to Smackdown. Hopefully there are a few surprises! I may have a column out before the draft, but most certainly after the draft. Enjoy the pay-per-view tonight and directly all comments, complaints, and suggestions to NFWAKerr@yahoo.com! Thanks.
