“To be the man, you gotta beat the man,” --Ric Flair.

And Eric Bischoff has beaten the man. Woo!

No matter what some might say, no matter what may have happened after Ted Turner lost control of his company, Eric Bischoff won the Monday night battle, if not the war, and no one can take that away from him.

I've been watching the man with the meat wagon in Minnesota. I've watched all the old AWA shows, all the Battle Bowls, Starcades, and Bashes At The Beaches. If Eric Bischoff doesn't have a knack for wrestling, then my name isn't S. David Jones, and Hulk Hogan isn't the biggest draw the sport ever saw, and we all know a crowd don't pop like it did when Hollywood, would say, “You know Mean Gene.”

The best judge of success in today's world is how many haters you have. Eric Bischoff has many, and Eric Bischoff has plenty of sense when it comes to the biz. Eric Bischoff, on his latest blog post stated that he would have kept WWE running as an independent outfit, if the cards had went the other way. Vince McMahon didn't. And WCW should still be around and competing with WWE, but it's not. Shame on Vince, and now because of this, Vince is having to compete with a whole lot of tough SOB's who don't give a good Goddamn who he is, or what he's done. Woo!

On a side note, I am starting a campaign, an online petition to get myself hired as head booker for TNA wrestling. Details forthcoming!

Now for the smackdown, if you smell what this writer's cookin!

Here is a Special Delivery by S. David Jones, and remember, the postman always rings twice. . . .

This fan hasn't left his corner, but, by popular demand, is simply starting an alternate column. Special Delivery will take a more irreverent look at the biz, if that is possible. And From This Fan's Corner will take on a more serious tone. I make no promises.

I missed WWE NXT this week, and make no plans to catch future episodes. I know that sounds crass, but there are already too many young, unknown wrestlers in the biz to watch. I am only a mortal man, after all. I didn't go to RAW this past week, either, and they were wrestling in my backyard. Literally.

I know what you must be thinking. And yes I am a wrestling columnist. I just don't care to wade through a crowd for two hours to watch The Big Show wrestle a stuffed animal, as amusing as that might be to see, while under the influence of powerful narcotics. Which is to say, not very amusing otherwise, not to say that anyone should use powerful narcotics. Now for something completely different. . . .

I'm hoping Ric Flair has his house in order. “The Nature Boy” has been the best part of Impact the last few weeks. I haven't seen a wrestling show with as much pop as Impact had last week, in years, if ever. And that brings me to something that Lance Storm said.

First of all, who in the hell is Lance Storm? Is he that jobber I vaguely remember from ECW/WCW? One thing I know about Lance for sure though--is that Vince McMahon must be paying him. Because nobody who isn't taking a check would talk so much Sh*#. I honestly honestly love the new-look TNA, and think Mr. Anderson is one of the best heels ever to cut a promo.

But seriously, I am glad Lance Storm opened his his big mouth, because I didn't have much to write about otherwise. And Lord knows I've seen the old ambulance routine and work Bret Hart did on Raw a thousand times already. Thank God for DVR.

Now back to Impact. Who knew Abyss had such good mic skills? And who really believes the Hall versus Nash feud? Scott Hall could shoot Kevin Nash live on television, and I still wouldn't believe it. And I mean shoot with a gun, not a microphone. Am I right? What's next, is Eric Bischoff gonna feud with “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan? I would believe Shawn Michaels versus Triple H first? And it will be a stone cold day, in the hell in the cell, before that happens, brother!

I promise more WWE NXT column. With Wrestlemania coming up, there are bound to be things worth writing about. Let us pray. Peace.
