 What more can I say?

Hey everyone and welcome back to the Age of Silence Column. It's good to be back. I've been very busy lately. I also recently spoke to DDP after I sent him my column on the death of heroes and the the state of wrestling. We didn't go into depth, but he said," it's a rough business", and I truly agree because of the situations they go through. I think the death's of wrestlers really gets everyone thinking more about wrestlers when they're outside of their character. Now lets get down to business. I've been doing a lot of reading of other columns and comments by the fans of the wrestling business in general, and I have to admit that a lot of people are just fed up with the state of wrestling. Like most of you I have been a loyal fan to wrestling, but I feel like I'm at a crossroad because the product is dying, and seems to be on life support.

I would be lying if I said I've stopped watching wrestling but it's hard to watch the crap that comes on. Like most people that have been watching Raw as of late, I too get mad a change the channel. The things that are being done make no damn sense at all. First why have a champion that doesn't really wrestle, nor has any real feedback from the crowd? Not to mention DX has a mascot now. I mean be serious now. The comedy in wrestling is no longer funny. It's a cheap attempt to fill a time slot. I'm dying to see what the ratings are for these pointless segments that we have to endure. It almost feels like wrestling has no direction and hasn't had any in years. The more say it can't get worse, the more it does. At first I was happy with TNA making some changes that I thought might better things, but I wonder if that won't only make things worst. There are rumors running wild that some form of the NWO is going to form in TNA, but I'm not sure how much that would get over especially if these people do come back with big egos.

As a fan I wish wrestling would be what it should be, flat out wrestling, and not some watered down soap opera. It was a time when fans really screamed and enjoyed wrestling but now the fans don't really give pops like they used to. Most arenas seem boring. In all out fairness, who can blame them. Though wrestling promotions like to use the economy situation as a foundation for the decrease in sales, pay per view buy rates, and other things, the truth is the product just sucks. Why should people pay to see the same matches over and over that you can see every week on TV. The worst thing WWE was separate the talent on the brands. It was alright when there were a lot more people in the company, but times have changed, and they need to change that and just merge the brands. I think it would be good to see different things on TV and pay per view, or just cut down the number of pay per views. Pay per views are good, but why pay for something you will always see on TV. In a dream world Wrestlemania would actually be Wrestlemania if we could see something different, and something that only happen on that stage, and not on TV.

Never in a million years would I expect wrestling to be at this point, and it's really losing it's true fan base. All wrestling companies really need to evaluate their future's and what directions they plan to take, because now wrestling is in the Twilight Zone with no way out. Well people that's it for this week. Enjoy your families and holiday, and remember never remain silent. silent_thought21@yahoo.com
