Hello everyone. Welcome to my first column for TWNP. You have entered a silent but loud column. First I want to thank the site for having me, and I want to thank all of the readers that visit this site. I want each of you to know that I'm a straightforward writer that tells it like it is, and that I also want to hear your views and opinions. Feel free to message me at anytime at silent_thought21@yahoo.com.
I've been reading a lot of columns on the site, and I see that most of us agree on certain things. Wrestling is going in a bad direction lately. The story lines are not even enjoyable most times, most pay per views aren't worth a dollar, and we see the same characters getting a push. Lately I've been on the WWE Universe on facebook, and I can tell you that fans are angry with WWE. I even find myself feeling that way lately. Wrestling has changed so much over time that the typical fan has walked away as of late. The PG rating has really sunk the WWE ship. WWE has made some of the biggest stars, and has created some of the best moments of people's lives when it had a mature rating. The company was built off drama, emotion, and controversy, but now it feels like a human cartoon that repeats over and over. The shows have lacked that passion that made people glue their faces to the television, and made for the best discussions at work and school. The death of the attitude era has been the worst experience for fans. RAW is not Raw anymore.
For the first time I caught RAW the other night. It was a so so show for the most part. Jessie The Body was a great choice to host because of his fire and attitude. The top stars did their thing as normal, and we had a 3 hour show. Cena and Punk was a good match with good action and close near falls. It was interesting to see DX against the Hart Dynasty. That could be a foundation to something bigger happening in the future. From what I see the Kofi and Orton feud is building but WWE has let Orton look weak in general. That fire is not there, and the legend killer is fading as a true threat. Tonight was a chance for the younger guys to shine. I think WWE is trying move the younger talent into the spotlight, but they have to evaluate who they put in them spots. I will admit that it was nice to see the younger stars actually get a shot at being in a main event. However, I'm not impressed with Sheamus at this moment. He reminds me of a Mike Knox type. This is a typical WWE problem. They overlook the key talents and they pick bigger guys who look like they can break you in half, but they always seem to lack the charisma and sometimes talent to truly get over. Bigger is not always better in my book. I know Sheamus is getting a strong push, but I think it was to early. You have guys who have been there for years that have never been in that spot, and not to mention the fans don't take him seriously, nor do I feel Cena does in real life. That end segment on RAW told a story. Jessie The Body Ventura was probably being honest about his feelings toward Cena by calling him a poster boy. Maybe it brings back memories of Hogan's poster boy image. It's hard not to argue that fact. Hogan and Cena do have similar traits. WWE needs to change this or make Cena heel. Most fans don't watch anymore because they know the outcomes.
After a three hour RAW I expected better. I can missed three months of action, and not miss a beat. WWE is starting to remind me of WCW by not promoting real talent and relying on the key players for everything. Times have changed, and WWE has lost touch with the fans. The lack of talent, good storytelling, and mainly the lack of competition has left WWE with an identity crisis. I think Vince's ego has played a role also. Everyone loves the WWE, but at one time fans really really loved WCW. However, looked how that ended. If Shane O Mac is leaving, something must be going on behind closed doors that is bad. This next Pay Per View will tell a lot about the future of WWE. The pay per view prices and people are flicking the channel. The next upcoming months are crucial for WWE in every area. If we as fans want change, we must demand it or face the reality that we might be watching a RISE AND FALL OF WWE dvd sooner than later.
That's it for today. Enjoy your families and holiday, and remember never let your thoughts be silent.
