Greetings sports fans and welcome to another edition of Pro Wrestlings greatest opinion source on the world wide web. I am thrilled to be back after a 90 day vacation courtesy of The Wayne County Jail right here in good ol Detroit Michigan. After watching the programs from the WWE the last couple of weeks I am happy to see that much has changed in three months and some of it is even change for the better unlike our current Presidential change. Personally I think that WWE needs the combination of HHH and Shawn Michaels as their latest version of DX because as solo wrestlers there isn't much else they can accomplish that hasn't already been done soooooooo many times before and they were getting stale man, so stale. Now they're funny and there is never any mystery as to what they're gonna do. I haven't read any of the other posts on this site yet but I am sure there are a lot of people who feel differently than I do. I sure hope so cuz if we all said the same thing then who in the hell would bother reading all these words? Anyway I am still a mark for the DX thing and probably always will be. Seeing Piper as the guest host last week was great as always. Hot Rod still has plenty of charisma and always will. There is nothing better than bringing one of the true greats of the wrestling business around every so often to remind us of the potential for greatness that exists in the pro wrestling world. With some of these new guys in the ring now its difficult to even remember the once thrilling matches of the good ol days and seeing guys like Rowdy Roddy Piper is a reminder that is much needed. This week we were graced with the presence of another legend in the person of Jesse The Body Ventura. Jesse is another fine example of the attention to character development and persona that once was. In his life now Ventura is still a unique character even just being himself. Imagine if he were President instead of the nub we are stuck with now...there would be change then you can bet your asses. Oh yeah heads would roll up there on capitol hill. God I can see it now. Speaking of characters I am very happy with the direction CM Punk is going with his character update. He is born to be a heel and is so much more watchable now. Another good idea by someone. I would like to think it was his idea cuz he was getting stale too and probably knew it. Punk and John Cena had the match of the night Monday and unlike many of the matches it was exciting and unpredictable all the way through. You could actually think they were gonna let Punk win the match most of the way through. The two men worked well together and there was none of the clumsiness that was apparent in other matches. Way to go Cena and Punk. Cena has consistently impressed me with his natural wrestling ability even though I never really liked the evolution of his character. I was glad to see the whole stupid white hip hop thing go away though. I saw some of those hip hoppy white guys get their asses handed to them by some of the fellas in county jail and boy did they do a quick character turn around. Hahaha. Another stand out the last few weeks is this Sheamus. I just got done reading up on him courtesy of wikipedia and he has worked very hard to get to the level of success he is currently enjoying. The man is huge and he has a very dominating ring presence and a great character. I look for Sheamus to be around for a long time and am hoping that WWE will not too quickly diminish the fear and respect he is due in the ring. Kane used to be feared and respected and to this day is a great wrestler and another of these characters we will always remember but WWE has continually held him back and prevented the rise of his career. As to the confrontation between Batista and Kane Monday there is no doubt in my mind that Batista will destroy Kane instead of it being the other way around as it should be and that is exactly what I do not want to happen to Sheamus. The way he slammed Cena thru the table on Raw virtually guarantees a win by Cena at the next PPV but if done correctly this can be the beginning of a very good feud between the two. I might even go so far as to expect it to be as good as the McMahon-Helmsley feud with Mankind...soon to evolve into McMahon-Helmsley vs Cactus Jack. I know , I have very high hopes huh? Poor Findlay came off looking like a little girl against Sheamus and he deserves better than that but at this point in his career hes gonna either be doing jobs for new guys like this or going home and they don't pay ya to sit at home. Speaking of the worlds greatest wrestler Mick Foley I was watching one of my old tapes the other day and the match in Japan between Mick and Terry Funk in a barbed wire ring was on. I'm not gonna say that those two guys were demented...oh wtf...yes I am. Whats scary to me is that these guys are just walking around among all of us “normal” people like they cant any minute now just start freaking out on one of us. I can only hope they do it to me. I would proudly take that ass whuppin. Oh yeah. Lets see, what else is there...Kofi Kingston is a guy I used to rag on but now he has also developed into quite the wrestler. He and Dolph Ziggler had a hell of a match on Monday Nite Raw and both of them are truly stars of the future. Both have just what it takes to make it and also they have character. Thats the word of the day today. There really wasn't very much else going on Monday of any real importance. Once again we see Rhoades and Debiase wasted as flunkeys for that giant anus Randy Orton, who, despite having fame and fortune virtually handed to him has yet to develop HIS character into anything even remotely watchable. Every week we still have to watch Randy make his stupid Orton faces and perform only the safest wrestling moves he can. Did the boy learn nothing from his dad or from Flair or from HHH. Apparently not. Sorry to always be on your ass Randy but it's up to you to change my mind. The Viper???? Really! Hats off to Vince and The Body for their announce stint and hats off to The King for jobbing to Sheamus and welcome back Vicki...I have missed hating you and I am sure I am not the only one. One of the keys to a good character is to either make us completely despise you or cheer for you. And then you have douches like Santino we could care less either way about. Well thats it for now people and like it or not I'm back at the keyboard pecking away with these two busy fingers. Keep those cards and letters coming and thanks for reading my crappy little column.
