The draft has come and gone and what do we have to show for it? Here is what we have so far: Batista, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Kane, and Michael Cole went to Raw. Jeff Hardy, Umaga, Ken Kennedy, and the biggest surprise yet-HHH went to Smackdown as well as good ole Jim Ross for the announce team. Oh and Matt Hardy went to ECW. This should be just the beginning of the draft so more surprises will hopefully be in store for us all. I suppose you could say the biggest surprise was HHH going to Smackdown. I never thought I would live to see the day that HHH actually went to the “B” show in the WWE. I would imagine he went there because they want to boost the fledging ratings of the show and set it up so when they go to “My Network” in the fall they can show the network that it is worth keeping around for a long time to come. And having HHH on Smackdown is supposed to do that, excuse me a minute-hahahahahaha. Crash!! Boom!! Bang!! That’s what the end of Raw was like right after Vince gave away $500,000 dollars to a fan. After Vince gives away the money, a piece of the Raw set falls down next to him, he doesn’t know why it happened and carries on talking, the piece of set under McMahon’s feet then falls away and he falls down with the money to the floor below, this is followed by the McMahon Dollar Bill collapsing and falling down on top of Vince, there are a few explosions and the wrestlers run to try and get Vince out. EMT’s come from the back, put Vince on a stretcher and try to slide him out, he regains consciousness and says “Paul…Paul” which was directed at Triple H, Trips tells him to relax and not to move, the show ends with Vince saying “Paul, I can’t feel my legs.” I guess with the stage falling apart on Vince, it means there is no more money to be given out-at least temporarily as the WWE site says. That’s one way of stopping the failed giveaway. The falling of the pieces around Vince looked quite convincing, but we all know it will make you watch Raw next week to see how he is doing. And the question remains, who did this to the man? Who indeed? That will be the on-going question for the summertime, just you watch. I almost forgot to mention the Night of Champions PPV on Sunday June 29th, I don’t think I will even comment on this event as Raw also barely even mentioned it. Is it worth wasting my time in predicting anything on the upcoming show? No it isn’t, so I won’t. It was an above average show and with the draft taking place the rating for Raw was a tad better then last week (3.4-3.7) but not even the draft could bring the number to a 4.0 or even a 5.0. I hear there will be a supplemental draft sometime this week for the lower to mid-card wrestlers and I hope that they will draft more then ten wrestlers for that one. We shall see. It is with hopes that this summer will be one that has better storylines and more wrestling then last summer (last year wasn’t the best for the federation that’s for sure). Lets all start to pray that with this draft and the “accident” that McMahon was in will pave the road to a higher standard of show that all of us fans are screaming to finally witness after such a long time. That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
