WWE tried it again and did they learn their lesson from last week? I had thought so at the beginning of the show, I have to give props to the first match of the night on Raw with John Cena vs. Umaga in a Street Match. Even though Cena won (no surprise there) it was a decent match and at least 15 minutes long.
Then there was the 1st giveaway of the night, it was a bit more entertaining then last week, but it was still painful to watch the thing. The rating wasn’t much better then last week going from a 3.0 up to a 3.3...not that great of an improvement, and McMahon is going to try it again? ugh….So anyway, here is what happened Monday night:
Beach bikini blowout with Charlie Haas as host, this was the only way he would ever get a reaction from the crowd. Holy crap, I love the summertime! Maria won of course, although I thought Melina was pretty hot as well. The match after a certain amount of lag time was Jeff Hardy vs Carlito. Okay match… I hear Cry-Baby Carlito is upset with the WWE and the lack of his push in the last year and it seems as if he wants to quit yet again. I say give him his walking papers if he is dissatisfied with the company. Then he will see how good he really had it, albeit the level he ever achieved was midcard status if even that. If he thought he would do better then that, then he is not seeing the reality his character would achieve. The best Carlito will do when he does leave is return to his Caribbean roots and disappear into obscurity possibly never to be seen again, oh well. Why is it that some wrestlers can’t be happy with what they have while they have it? I’m sure he’s getting paid quite well for his time in the WWE and nowhere else would he see this type of paycheck. If he isn’t happy with what he has, be done with it and move on, wrestling won’t stop because Carlito wants his walking papers from the WWE. There is always someone else to take up an empty spot on the roster-it’s unfortunate to say this, but it is the truth.
Chris Jericho is out and spouting his dissatisfaction of HBK and calls him a coward and dares him to come out to the ring. Ric Flair’s theme song comes on and out comes the legend himself. He tells Jericho to meet him outside to fight. Then at the door where Flair exited, HHH instead comes face to face with Jericho. Why they put Flair in for such a thing is a mystery to me. It was a waste of his talents...Looks like a possible match between Jericho and HHH later on.
Hardcore Holly and Rhodes vs. Cryme Tyme is up. It lasted all of a 3 count. I suppose Carlito didn’t want to be in another losing tag team match up so they used Cryme Tyme. Stupid!!! They are really building the Ted Dibiase Jr. and mystery partner storyline though for the Night of Champions.
Kennedy and Mickie James vs. Paul Burchill and his “sister” Katie in a mixed tag team match. Have to give it to James and Katie, they did a pretty good job. Katie pins James in the end. So the feud goes on.
The last match of the night is Chris Jericho vs. HHH. Okay match with the ending having Lance Cade interfere to end the show. No idea why they had Cade interfere…Cena also came out once Cade became involved. But the faces got their butts handed to them and the heels stood over them at the end of the show. Hate to say it, but it was another classic WCW ending.
Some people are trying to blame others in the company for the way the storylines are going and how bad the rating has been this whole year. The one and only person that has the final say as to what goes on air is Vince McMahon. He’s the one that has the final say in any and all storylines, what goes on air and what doesn’t. Some can suggest what should go on the television, but in the end it is all Vince McMahon and no one else. His ego is what runs the company, always has been always will be. Bottom line my friend, like it or lump it, that’s the way it is...
On a scale of one to ten I would rate this Monday Night Raw a 5 for more wrestling in it, but that’s it. It wasn’t anything to write home about. As I stated earlier, next week McMahon is still going to be giving away the money on the three hour show where the draft trade begins as well. Hope it’s better then what we’ve been seeing lately, yeah right...
That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
